So why bracelets as your jewelry accessory?

Bracelets are an ancient jewelry. Since the beginning of time, bracelets have been sought after and worn by the powerful, the confident, the rebellious and the distinguished. Worn by both men and women alike as a form of statement jewelry, bracelets come in all shapes, materials and sizes.

While men may be reluctant to wear jewelry, bracelets are by far their choice for fashion accessories. Bracelets lend distinction and are ideal for casual or dressy occasions. Some of the most popular bracelets are made from silver.

Keeping it simple and consistent with your personal style is the best way to go. Men’s bracelets don’t have to be over the top. A simple design can be stylish while not feeling forced. A good thought is to choose a design that you can wear regularly and that can co-exist with your current wardrobe. It should conform to your respective dress code. For classy, dressy, and formal office work attire, silver bracelets are definitely the way to go. Sterling Silver with a great pair of jeans in a more casual setting works just as great.

Investing on a good quality bracelet is always a good idea, especially if you are looking to wear it every day. Best to choose quality over quantity!

So you may be asking yourself “what is larimar?”

Larimar, also called "Stefilia's Stone", is a rare blue variety of the silicate mineral pectolite found only in the Dominican Republic, within the Caribbean. Its coloration varies from white, light-blue, green-blue to deep blue.

First discovered back in 1916 by Father Miguel Domingo Fuertes Loren of the Barahona Parish, it wasn’t until 1974 when Miguel Méndez and Norman Rilling rediscovered larimar on a beach at the foot of the Bahoruco Mountain Range, the coastal province of Barahona. At first, natives believed that the stone came from the sea, and they called the gem Blue Stone. The Bahoruco River carrying the naturally polished blue larimar was eventually followed upstream revealing the source, and so mining began.

Characteristics and origin of larimar.

Larimar is a type of pectolite or a rock composed largely of pectolite, an acid silicate hydrate of calcium and sodium. Pectolite is found in many locations throughout the world, but larimar has a unique volcanic blue coloration, which is the result of copper substitution for calcium.

Miocene volcanic rocks, andesites and basalts, erupted within the limestones of the south coast of the Domican Republic. These rocks contained cavities which were later filled with a variety of minerals, including blue pectolite. These pectolite cavity fillings are a secondary occurrence within the volcanic flows, dikes, and plugs. When these rocks erode, the pectolite fillings are carried down the slope to end up in the alluvium and the beach gravels.

So what else is out there?

LUGDUN ARTISANS launched back in 2019 their RUSTIC FRAME RING. This framed ring is a modern yet rustic design that is edgy and certainly makes a powerful statement. The centerpiece is set with Larimar (also called "Stefilia's Stone"), a rare blue variety of the silicate mineral pectolite found only in the Dominican Republic, in the Caribbean.

Perfect for the modern day office type or rebellious individual, the distinct frame design and color makes it a conversational piece, easily admired by all. This cool ring represents every individual, whether man, woman, rich executive, biker, rocker or common rebel, with a quality piece that is made of solid sterling silver.

It's an excellent accessory for any man’s or woman’s casual and formal look.
